XTRA Sports 910’s Mike Jurecki has learned according to a source that the Cardinals are showing interest in WR Lee Evans, in my Sunday’s Birdeed blog it was pointed out that Buffalo is shopping Evans. (via Dan Pompei).  Click Here to listen to MJ's report

Lee Evans

Dan Pompei w/ National Football Post is reporting… The Bills have a crowd at the receiver position after the acquisition of Brad Smith. The former Jet joins Lee Evans, Steve Johnson and Roscoe Parrish, so don’t be surprised if the Bills part ways with Evans. The veteran had a down year in 2010 with only 37 catches, and he could have some trade value. Interesting
parties have been sniffing around.

My take:

Evans will enter his 8th season, 30 yrs old, avg. 15.7 per catch in his career, 43 career TD’s. He has exactly what the Cards are looking for in a deep threat.

Last year Evans caught a career low 37 passes and 4 TD’s… Through out Evans career he has come up w/ big catches for TD’s. (69, 65, 83, 85, 87, 50, 54)

Evans signed a 4 year 37.25 deal thru 2012... scheduled to make 3.28 million this year. (2011)

Wonder what the asking price is a player or a pick? Keep in mind they already have given up a second round pick next year to Philly in the Kolb –DRC trade and they aquired a sixth round pick in the Hightower- Holliday trade. Wheeling and dealing!
