The 2013 NFL season was a rough one for the Arizona Cardinals, but the stellar play of LB Daryl Washington was one of few bright spots. The third-year player led Arizona with a career-high 140 tackles (110 solo), nine sacks, 14 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, an interception, a fumble recovery and six passes defensed. His nine sacks were the most by any NFL ILB and was the first Cardinals linebacker to make the Pro Bowl since Seth Joyner in 1994.

“I was always taught that when you make a mistake, you admit it, learn from it and face whatever consequences there are. I take full responsibility and I understand that I let down my teammates, the organization and fans. I apologize for that and promise that no one will work harder to make up for it.”
May 1 - A woman called Phoenix PD late in the afternoon claiming she was assaulted by Washington earlier that day, according to the Phoenix Police Department. When officers arrived to the home in Ahwatukee, Washington was not there.
May 2- The news comes out - Phoenix PD say they are investigating a domestic violence call involving Pro Bowl linebacker Daryl Washington. Phoenix PD tells XTRA Sports 910 the following in the afternoon: "Really nothing new to report. There has been no arrest and we have not interviewed Mr. Washington as of yet. Our next step is to interview him regarding these allegations."
The PD says they have spoken with his Attorney but that Washington has not yet shown up for an interview.
May 3 - Washington is arrested and charged. As is first reported by FOX 10: "Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. His bond is set at $4,200."
Washington provided Mike Jurecki with the following statement:
"This is a legal matter and I am limited in what I can say other than that my lawyer and I will continue to cooperate with investigators and welcome the opportunity for all the facts to be presented. I regret that the situation has brought this kind of attention to my family and my team. I look forward to resolving it as soon as possible."
