Bill Huffman:
Bill Huffman has been with Backspin The Golf Show since 1999, the same year he wrote the book "Arizona's Greatest Golf Courses.'' Bill was born in Iowa City, Iowa, graduated from City High School in 1969, and from the University of Iowa in 1973 (bachelor of general studies) and 1975 (masters degree in journalism). His first "real'' job was covering high school football for the San Antonio Express-News, where he eventually became the assistant sports editor. From 1977-82 he was the copy desk chief/assistant sports editor of the Des Moines Register -- "The Big Peach.''

In the fall of 1982 he moved to Arizona as the copy desk chief of the Arizona Republic. In 1985 he became the assistant sports editor. Among his other accomplishments, Huffman served as the national president of the Associated Sports Editors in 1995, and was a member of the executive committe of the Golf Writers of America Association from 1996-98.

The first major golf championship he covered was the 1988 U.S. Open at Brookline near Boston, and he has covered 46 majors and Ryder Cups since, including 16 Masters. He currently writes about golf for the East Valley Tribune, as well as publications like Golf Magazine, Links, Nicklaus Magazine, Golf & Travel, Arizona the State of Golf, Golf Southwest, pgatour.com, Stratos, Luxury Resorts & Courses, and many more. He has three children -- Kristen, Sky and Meghan -- and lives in Tempe with his three dogs, Sampson, China and and three cats Jackson, Whitey and Toby. He plays out of Whitefish Lakes Golf Club in Montana, his "second home'' and favorite place on Earth.



Corey LaRusso:
Corey La Russo grew up in Pacific Palisades, California and is the son of  former NBA All-Star , the late Rudy La Russo. (Lakers '59-' 67, Warriors ' 67-' 70).  Though Corey became good at golf at a young age he was also a standout prep basketball player, imagine that, at Palisades High School.  At age fifteen, Corey teamed up with PGA Pro Eric Monti at Hillcrest C.C. in Los Angeles, (who Corey would call the most influential man in his life), and graduated to scratch status from a twelve handicap in four months.

He went on to claim First Team All-City Los Angeles status in all three years of high school. By his senior year Corey had dropped basketball to focus on golf. He was named to the All-State Southern California Section Team his senior year and recruited by coach Rick La Rose from the University of Arizona in 1985.

In Tucson, Corey studied Media Arts and turned professional in1991.  He traveled the world playing the Canadian, Asian, and South American Tours from 1991- 1994 when he returned to Arizona to live and practice.  Coreys' career, unfortunately was plagued by injuries and in 1994 he founded "Backspin, The Golf Show" and turned his focus to broadcasting.

In 2001, Corey began partnering with his father in the Investment Banking World and  Sports Representative industries. Corey currently hosts "Backspin, The Golf Show" on XTRA twice a week, is a Representative to Nanko Investments in Newport Beach, California, and is a licensed International Sports Agent with several players currently in the Italian Basketball League.
